cpe Staff Involvement
All staff are allocated 1 days paid leave to allow them to volunteer at a local
charity of their choice. Staff have taken part in events ranging from gardening,
cleaning equipment, admin work, basically wherever we can assist!
cpe contributing to the local community
We are developing links with the ‘Education Business Partnership’ (EBP) and have pledged our support
at various events run by the EBP throughout 2011. The EBP help raise the aspirations
of young people and are able to be directly involved in initiatives which encourage
young people to develop key skills required for the world of work.
For schools, the EBP can provide support in all aspects of the curriculum, generating
links with employers who can help to bring a real life perspective to the curriculum.
EBP programmes and activities support the full 9 elements of the work related learning
framework for KS4, and can support careers and PSHE programmes.
Many students find that, being involved with employers through the EBP, increases
their motivation to learn, and helps them to have a much better understanding of
what will be required of them once they enter the world of work.
The EBP is a not for profit company limited by guarantee. Their funding comes through
central and local government contracts, and all funding goes towards providing high
quality services for the community.
