Construction jobs to be created after project has been approved

A renewable energy project in Essex could create a number of new construction jobs, as the government has approved the project. The government has given RWE Npower renewables permission to build a five turbine windfarm in Essex between Clacton-on-Sea and St Osyth.

Head of consents at the company, John Ainslie said he was delighted that the project has got backing from the government, saying: "Like all RWE npower renewables' wind farms, the Earls Hall Wind Farm will make a substantial contribution to clean energy supply and the reduction in emissions of greenhouse gases. We will continue to work with the local community to keep them informed throughout the next stages of development and as the wind farm is constructed."

The scheme is set to employ construction workers and builders to assist in the project. Though the turbines will only last 25 years, as that is the length of its lifespan, and will be removed from the site once it has reached its full cycle.

Once the project is complete, the renewable energy facility will be able to generate enough electricity to meet the average power demands of up to 6,000 homes a year.
