Sunday Times Top 100 Companies to work for logo Hill McGlynn are celebrating today after a phenomenal result at the Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work for awards dinner.

Last years results ranked Hill McGlynn in 78th place in their first year of entering, but 2007 has seen the company rise 66 places to be ranked 12th in the best companies to work for throughout the UK.

This huge rise in ranking also saw Stephen Hill collect the prestigious ‘Most Improved Company’ award of the evening – the only recruitment organisation in the list to receive a special award.

The Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies list is the UK’s largest employee survey of its kind with 148,645 employees being surveyed and this year has seen a 60% increase in companies entering with 894 companies vying to be included in the exclusive 100 list.

Hill McGlynn’s ranking of 12th in the list has catapulted them to the top spot above all other recruitment organisations in the UK, beating Adecco, Michael Page, Robert Half and Office Angels. Hill McGlynn were also the only construction recruitment agency listed in the top 100 companies for the second successive year.

Commenting directly after receiving the award, Stephen Hill said: ‘It is hard to describe the feeling of achievement this award means to Hill McGlynn. As an organisation, we were so proud just to be included in the Top 100 list, but to rise so dramatically in the list and to be awarded the Most Improved Company trophy is unbelievable. What makes this award so special is the fact that 90% of the ranking is based on the staff feedback survey – so this award really recognises what our staff feel about the company and their role in it.’

Hill McGlynn staff made it clear that they share the same vision and goals Directors and the company were ranked 10th in the overall list for having faith in the leadership of the company with an 83% positive rating.

The Management team also fared very highly in the overall results with staff ranking their Managers 7th in the table of ‘Managers who listen to me’. These aspects combined have awarded Hill McGlynn an 83% positive response that staff, when asked, said that they would not leave the company tomorrow if offered another job.
