New Managing Director Appointed for Hill McGlynn Trades

The annual Hill McGlynn Christmas Conference in December, which was attended by both Vedior Group Chairman, Tony Martin and Commonwealth Zone Manager, Brian Wilkinson, saw many internal promotions for Hill McGlynn staff, among which was the appointment of Mark Bull as the new Managing Director of Hill McGlynn Trades. Hill McGlynn Trades, formally known as Team Up Workforce UK, is a subsidiary business of Hill McGlynn and operates as a separate limited company.

Mark joined Hill McGlynn as a recruitment consultant in 1992 after graduating from the University of London with a degree in Psychology. He had previous experience in recruitment and sales working for Hertz as a sales rep and Essjay Recruitment in technical construction.

Mark’s first step into management came in 1995 when he was promoted to Branch Manager of the Southampton office. He then was duly promoted to UK Operations Manager in 1997, which oversaw the running of three sales offices. The following year saw Mark take on the role of National Operations Director. During this time, Mark instigated and played a key role in new recruitment innovations for Hill McGlynn, including the formation and development of our Resource Centre, the integral Induction and FILE Reality Branch training for all new recruitment consultants and the development of Hill McGlynn’s industry-led Health & Safety initiatives for Temporary Workers.

After being promoted to the Board of Directors in 2000, Mark’s role also included overseeing the merger in 2003 of the Select Group company Team Up Workforce UK with Hill McGlynn and consequently the re-branding of Team Up to Hill McGlynn Trades in October 2003.

Mark will take over full operating responsibility of Hill McGlynn Trades in January 2004, which supplies trades and labour staff to the construction industry and currently has six offices throughout the UK and plans to expand its operation in 2004.
