Outward Bound Fuels Further Funds and Success for Youngsters

Several key clients of Hill McGlynn recently joined Stephen Hill and Steven Ware on the high seas to help raise £30,000 for The Outward Bound Trust of which Hill McGlynn is a Patrons Company.

The Outward Bound Trust provides young people, who for financial reasons, would never have the opportunity, to take part in courses which teach teamwork and leadership skills together with encouraging self confidence and helping youngsters tackle difficult challenges.

The Outward Bound Duke of York Diamond Cup Regatta was held on the waters of the Solent between ten 36ft yachts and was concluded with a dinner with HRH Duke of York in Cowes.

The success on the high seas followed the presentation the previous month of two Duke of Edinburgh Silver Awards for Lisa Curry and Ben Hinks who were part of one of the first groups to attend The Outward Bound course sponsored by Hill McGlynn three years ago.

Stephen Hill believes that courses such as The Outward Bound provide a platform for young people in helping define what they want to achieve in life. Hill says; "The success of Lisa and Ben highlights the way in which Outward Bound helps young people strive to reach their own personal goals. The Duke of Edinburgh’s Silver Award is a significant achievement and also shows potential employers of the individuals determination and tenacity to succeed."
