The New Children’s Hospital Appeal aims to raise £20 million to help fund projects in the new hospital focussing on two main areas of providing state-of-the-art equipment and parental accommodation to enable parents to stay close to their child.

Dr Carr commented: "I was delighted to be able to accept this cheque from my son on behalf of the appeal. This appeal is about the future of healthcare and what better way to demonstrate this than by a current consultant’s son and the company he works for fundraising for the new hospital. I am very much looking forward to working in the new state-of-the-art building and being able to provide the very best care and treatment I can".
